Mya-Rose Craig is a 16-year-old birder who lives near Bristol. Her blog, Birdgirl (2.5 million views) is where she writes about birds, wildlife, conservation and the environment.
Mya-Rose will take us on a birdwatching walk followed by a talk on the importance of natural diversity and engagement with our enviroment. Mya believes that we have to do everything we can to save the environment from damage and wants to try and persuade people about that. She is an Ambassador for World Shorebirds Day, Bristol European Green Capital 2015 and is a Charter Champion for The Charter for Woods, Trees and People. She was listed as one of Bristol’s most influential young people in 2014 along with George Ezra and Maisie Williams.She has been bird ringing since age 9 and has her licence. She loves World Birding, being the youngest person to see 5000 birds. In the future Mya would like to be like Steve Backshall and venture to remote places to look for new species.
