Martin puts it best himself!
“I was born in Royal Leamington Spa and the fact that I still call it Royal Leamington Spa might give you a clue into my personality; but that’s for you to suss out. I am from dual heritage, Irish and the Home Counties, and am very proud of both. They have informed the man I have become and, more importantly, the writer I’ve grown into. I have armed myself with a pencil and piece-of-paper since before I could talk, but it was only as I slowly came out as a gay man that I began to find my artist’s voice. This voice solidified and then found its ultimate strength upon discovery that I was HIV+. Activism had never been on the agenda until I had something to be active about: I can categorically state that the breaking down of stigmas and the dispersing of misinformation have become two of my favourite hobbies.
Once informed by my ancestry, I now find myself trying to inform as much of the future as will listen. I have my words, I have my positivity. Pun very much intended.”
