Blindfolded Yoga
Yoga poses are often initiated through the eyes. We see, we copy, we perhaps think of… ice cream! Reliance on the eyes allows the mind to wander off. Taking the eyes out of the equation enables the posture to be performed from a more natural, internal, focused and primordial perspective. We have to learn how to align our energetic centre with our movable physical gravitational centre and stay rooted in ‘hara’.
Practicing blindfolded gives you the opportunity to do just that. It demonstrates how well (or not) you are actually performing a posture, how grounded you really are and how focused you really are. Through preparatory breathing and awareness techniques we will move towards a series of blindfolded postures, experiencing them from a fresh perspective!
