Sleeping Well
Are you aware of the lifestyle factors, environmental factors, behaviours and unhelpful thoughts that influence your sleep? Christabel Majendie, sleep therapist and consultant, will take you through a myth-busting exercise where she explores some of the commonly held, unhelpful beliefs about sleep. She will explore, what happens when we sleep, how long we should sleep for, when we should go to bed and what processes drive and regulate our sleep. You will also learn about triggers to sleep problems, how insomnia develops and what happens when we don’t sleep. You will come away with tips to improve your sleep quality and to increase your chances of a good night’s sleep. In addition, you can take part in a relaxation exercise involving deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation, a technique proven to help with sleep problems.
