Kefirs are cultured drinks full of beneficial microbes and are associated with a number of health benefits. This interactive workshop will help you get to grips with the kefir making process, so that you may easily and affordably make a positive impact on your own health. We’ll embark on a whistle stop tour from the ancient roots of fermentation to the very latest discoveries in the field of gut health.
Fermenting safety and hygiene will be covered before you learn how to make and manage your own supply. We’ll start with dairy milk kefir, move on to non-dairy kefir and finally cover water kefir. There’ll be opportunities to try samples throughout and we’ll look at, and taste, some of the ways you can incorporate kefir into your diet and as a cooking ingredient.
